Shan in Japan

I will start working from August 1st with Outdoor Japan  as Director of Sales and Marketing.  I went to plenty of job interviews with software companies, market research companies, recruitment companies etc, but at the end of the day, this is something that is in line with my interests, and since I will be doing sales and marketing, it is something that I can definitely be passionate about!

Outdoor Japan has been around for about 6 years now.  Originally a website for foreigners living in Japan needing and exchanging information on outdoor leisure activities, sports and travel in Japan.  As of last year, Outdoor Japan now publishes a bilingual magazine with circulation throughout the country.  Its a small crew of outdoor enthusiasts working here and though still a 'grass roots' level company, there are big plans to get this company to be the leading online/print media gateway to Japan's outdoors!

As for July, might just take another little trip somewhere!  Lots of good pre-summer specials on at the moment. 

Couldn't help myself by taking an extra little trip down south to see some old friends in Nagoya. But now I'm back in Tokyo - no more procrastinating about getting a job! Today I put on my suit, polished my shoes and just barely remembered how to tie my tie. Got meetings with a few companies next week. Exactly what do I want to do? Will have to rely on 'gut feeling' to answer that one. Looking about my bank account balance though, I need to start working asap!
